This is my fourth year taking part in newsletter promotions on BookFunnel. Twice a month, I give away either a taster of a novel or the full book, along with other indie authors. Each month, notices come to my email about others' promotions. Some people run constant ones. A handful are run by small publishers but most are just authors like me coming up with a way to present many independent writers' books along with their own, to get their name better known. Well into my fourth year, I've decided to try my hand at running my own promotion! (The build up to it is shown in the image above.) I decided on October with the season-related theme, Haunted!
It’s been fun watching the submissions come in for my promo. It doesn’t start until Oct 1 but you can peek at what’s there. So many good books with great, enticing covers and concepts have been submitted.
I feel proud and complimented to have fellow writers choose to take part, like a host setting out the hors d’oevres and hoping people will arrive to imbibe and enjoy the atmosphere I’ve created. And arrive they have! There are now 65 books offered up and still coming in.
On a side note, this blog post was written a couple of weeks ago and somehow got lost into “Projects” so it’s actually going to be posted closer to the first day of the promo, Oct. 1!
