We Discover Ourselves

Last time, I blogged wondering if I'm a phone-head. A few days before that, my phone had suddenly been unwilling to charge. I wrote about that on Aug. 30. After that, I went through a fiasco trying to buy a new phone. It wasn't getting delivered because the seller wouldn't let me correct the address they had for me. So I went weeks without a cell phone.

My most interesting observation was I wasn’t binge-watching detective shows during that time, I suspect the connection to not having a phone is I didn’t have access to playing Woodoku. Usually I come in and out of watching Prime if I’m also playing.

It was startling to realize that, while not having a phone, I was instead choosing to read in the evenings. I’ve been reading a crime novel by Lisa Towles called Switch that’s coming out on Sept 30. How fun that it’s launching the same month as my latest sci fi, Xentu Secret!

Last night I tried again to charge my phone and was able to! Now I think I’ve established that I’m a bit of a phone-head and that it’s good to be cleansed of phones occasionally.
